Why Not Your Dreams?

Updated on September 7, 2013
To make them come true, feel the joy of your dreams - as if they were already real
To make them come true, feel the joy of your dreams - as if they were already real

I think I'll learn a new language. Some may ask, "Why?" I say,"Why not?"

One day I remember 'talking off the top of my head' while with a group of friends, "I think I'll move to the tropics, Hawaii maybe..."

A few not only asked, "Why?" (which I thought was a really silly question!) but they also said it would be impossible as a Canadian.

I didn't respond, but thought, "It's a worthy dream, why couldn't I?"

"Man is made or unmade by himself. By the right choice he ascends. As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, he holds the key to every situation..." James Allen (as Quoted in "The Choice" by Og Mandino)

Ever have your life turned around on what amounted to a dare?

I believe there's a missing ingredient here, but who am I to question Neville?

Isn't that AMAZING!

So I dreampt and refined..

Started gathering pictures to focus...

If you can place yourself in the middle of your dreams, sensing them with all your senses, they will come true quicker. Feel the cool waterfall?

It has been reported that 50% of our programming is absorbed by the time we are 4 yrs old. Another 30% by the time we are 8! Once we reach our 20s, we've bought into all sorts of programs that had nothing to do with us or who we are and what we're capable of.

You can change these programs if you'd like to start dreaming again - and actualizing your dreams. All you have to do is get emotionally involved with the change and/or through repetition, preferrably both together. This is how we bought into the defeating ones to begin with.

Statistically only 3% of the population actually achieve their goals or dreams. Why? It's not because the other 97% haven't any dreams. Nor is it that they're incapable of making them come true/actualizing them. It's because only 3% ever write them down, believe they're attainable and set out with the desire and discipline to make them happen!

what DO you want?
what DO you want?
No matter what, don't lose sight of your goal!
No matter what, don't lose sight of your goal!

We've all heard that before in those or different words and probably thought, "that's just way too simple". So we don't exercise the discipline required to maintain our desired experience in our imaginations or create simple plans to make them happen - and we don't write them down!

We let our programs, fears, doubts, insecurites, or other people convince us they're 'impossible'. What really happens? We forget the grand dreams we were so passionate about - that kept us excited about getting out of bed every day. They begin to slip away, bit by bit, piece by piece, year after year...

Ironically another friend came to me as if he was about to tell a joke. Then he said, it's really a story about a young man named Andy. Andy had gone to the theatre. Being one of the last to leave, there wasn't anyone else around by the time he got to his car. And, sure enough, it wouldn't start. He tried everything to fix it.

All of a sudden a sleek red Ferrari pulled up and out stepped a tall, dark, extremely handsome and seemingly perfect man. The man offered to help - but at a price.

Andy, realizing a Ferrari driving individual wouldn't normally offer to help mechanically, looked the man over and said, "I know who you are - you're the devil".

The man's head rolled back and he laughed hideously. "Well" he said, "If you know that, why do you think I'm here?".

Andy said, "You want my soul". Again the man laughed uproariously until the whole universe seemed to resonate with his defiance.

He replied, "I own many, many souls, I don't need yours".

"If you don't want my soul, what do you want?" asked Andy.

To which he heard, "I want your dreams!

I watch you all start out with big dreams and lots of enthusiasm. Slowly but surely you start to give a piece of them to your parents, to your teachers, to your friends - often even to your own spouses. I see too that you don't live but about 20 years once your dreams are all gone. I want your dreams!"

"so busy doing what we think we have to do, that we do not think about what we really want to do"
"so busy doing what we think we have to do, that we do not think about what we really want to do"

"Most of us are so busy
doing what we think we have to
do, that we do not think about
what we really want to do." - Robert Percival

When was the last time you really thought about your dreams or if the road you're on is taking you closer to them?

Do you continue to do what you think you are supposed to do, rather than what you want to do?

You are already leading yourself - where to?

Have you seen the movie, "Pretty Woman"? Remember at the beginning? Some guy on a street corner saying, "WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD, EVERYBODY COMES TO HOLLYWOOD GOTTA DREAM. WHAT'S YOUR DREAM? HEY, WHAT'S YOUR DREAM?"

Hollywood California hasn't cornered the market on making dreams come true. What do you really want?

Lee Iacocca can be quoted saying, "What do you want to be? What do you want to have? Where do you want to go? Who do you want to go with? How the hell do you plan to get there? Write it down. Go do it. Enjoy it. Share it. It doesn't get much simpler or better than that."

I didn't want to be on the cover of the Rolling Stones, I wanted to be on the cover of Kauai Times :)
I didn't want to be on the cover of the Rolling Stones, I wanted to be on the cover of Kauai Times :)

So I say, "LIFE = a place where dreams CAN COME TRUE!"

Will you do it?

Think about it,

write them down,

BELIEVE YOU CAN MAKE THEM HAPPEN!

Hablas Espanol?

Pourque no?

Learning a new language can be the first step to proving you CAN accomplish anything! It even helped me 'get out of any box' by seeing things from a whole other cultural perspective. The easiest way I've found is to go to the country and immerse yourself while learning with a language course on the side. It took me years to learn a language through books and tapes alone. Another only 2 months by simply being there and having to communicate to be understood at all. I've heard the new Rosetta Stone courses add the element of visuals for learning - could be worth checking out.

Would you like to move or retire to an exquisite overseas location - Why not ?

Will you join me in saying - "WHY NOT GO FOR IT" ?

YOU CAN DO IT!

YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! :)

"...How the hell do you plan to get there? Write it down. Go do it. Enjoy it. Share it..."
