REINCARNATION – Fact or Fiction? 2
75Where are you now?
Life After Death Part 1
Have you read REINCARNATION – Fact or Fiction? 1 of this series yet? I highly recommend you back up to that first! This hub is simply to share some of the fundamentally accepted beliefs I found helpful prior to walking through the door of fact or fiction concerning past lives. This second part is for those who are intrigued, really want to know or explore another opportunity of self discovery – as DynamicS phrased it so eloquently.
To go from 'point A' to 'point B', it is not enough to have a plan and details of our destination. To illustrate this, imagine for a moment that you were blind-folded and put on a plane. After flying around awhile, they drop you off in the middle of the desert. Kind enough to give you water, a map, and even a compass, they tell you to walk to ‘point B’. Without knowing exactly where you are, your 'point A', would you ever be able to make it to 'point B'?
Knowing where we are now is essential before we can truly reach any goal with confidence. No additional homework may be necessary. You may instantly know where you are in the following areas. Then again, you may want to incorporate some changes first.
The avenue of past life regression is available to all of us. Most of us know the door is there. We have inklings of awareness or out and out blasts of intense energy when we meet someone. Psychologically they say “déjà vu” is merely a mind “hiccup” when we are tired. Sometimes though, the entire universe hiccups to help enlighten our path. Taking this more seriously than a restless night’s lack of sleep can move our mountains. The following combinations of our 'point A' and potential benefits of revisiting past lives might help you decide if you really want to go there, or are ready.
Are you stuck?
PREVENTION
Busy with the day to day essential demands of life, you may ask, “Why take the time to look at the past?” As valid a question as this is, we tend to function and make decisions based on past lessons or areas we have not yet fully comprehended. We can remain stuck, recreating similar scenarios repeatedly in an attempt to get it right this time. It does not even matter that we consciously know we cannot change anything in the past. Becoming aware of our blocks/"mountains"/places we're stuck however, we can recognize the inherent pearl of wisdom each circumstance offers in order to shift our thinking and catapult forward. Any avenue that can help us do that is, in my mind, FABULOUS!
When stuck, these repetitious creations cause more and more stress. It is as though we are stretching a rubber band tighter and tighter - inevitably, it will eventually snap. Once we see what the situation is trying to teach us, dealing with it by changing can prevent the snap. Since the snap or break is usually a manifestation of dis-ease, a paradigm of prevention is extremely helpful.
Our reasons for exploration
GREATER PERSPECTIVE
Specific reasons to delve into past life regression may vary as widely as the colors of the rainbow. In general, however, it is for the same reason we would choose any path of enlightenment. As above, they can help us cope better in our day to day lives diminishing stress, which of course causes 95% of all dis-ease.
Once we truly know or see the bigger picture, we are amongst those who feel the freedom of, “Don’t sweat the small stuff – AND IT’S ALL SMALL STUFF!” The grander our perspective, the more pieces of the puzzle we can appropriate coherently. The more we practice that, the less attached we are to the inconvenient specs of dust that invariably land on our shiny enlightenment.
Worlds of Eck GOD/SUGMAD
We can remain so attached
An easy, breezy example of this is in the movie, “Forrest Gump”. Forrest learned he could run away from ignorance and cruelty, so one day he took off to run from the emotionally painful turmoil caused by complications. After running thousands of miles, someone wanted to suck him back into analyzing and feeling bad about life’s woes. “You just stepped in a pile of DUNG!” He kept running, “shit happens” was his simple declaration.
We can remain so attached to our puny little opinions; we willingly throw piles of dung at others, hoping to suck them into feeling as confused as we do. “Christianity is about control! You should not be Christian or put any faith in the Bible! Are you THAT stupid?” What makes the blatantly obvious ‘shoulding upon others’ desire to control, ANY different from what you claim to be against? We can often more easily see other’s “issues” while blinded in judgment. Without expanding our horizons, realizing it has nothing to do with “them” is tough.
If you take exception to anything “outside” yourself – begin within and deal with it. Revisiting past lives may simply reveal that you have died once or twice already for that very same limiting belief. It is not your job to “condemn others to hell”. Incorporating "do unto others as you would want them to do unto you", broadening one's perspective here and now is simpler. Enjoy every possible shining facet of wisdom you can find and allow others to do the same.
DETACHMENT
Although e-motion is our energy in motion, we do not have to “be” an emotion to move. Eckhart Toll explains this beautifully on my hub Gift of Tranquility. If we believe we are our emotions, re-experiencing our past will invariably make us relive EXACTLY what we felt then. YIKES! Our attachment to the emotions, believing that is who we are, is the cause of dis-ease. Who in their right mind would voluntarily relive the same negative degree of emotion to feel a heart attack?
Remember – we are the best now that we have ever been. When detached, we can witness what happened in the same way we can shift our awareness of childhood trauma through Gestalt Therapy. Viewing it detachedly with a more mature frame of reference, without dependence on the outcome, without believing we have “no choice”, allows us to see and gain the beneficial wisdom and lessons. The goal is to advance with all this after all, is it not?
Exploitation has no purpose for the greater good
- Synergy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Synergy (from the Greek syn-ergos, συνεργός meaning working together) is the term used to describe a situation where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome.
The meek shall inherit the earth
complete awareness in all your actions, will melt away the undesirable
UNINVITED EXPLOITATION
The grander perspective of synergistic living tends to negate comparisons or competition altogether. As merely another one of those puny delusional tools our ego uses, they keep us stuck in “lack” or “separation”. What greater good can be achieved by thinking you are “better than” or “less than”? Once we truly understand karma, exploitation is a mere withdrawal from the account.
I have heard people egotistically brag of having been a King or Queen in a past life. With the very real surety that we are the best now that we have ever been, the enlightening clarity of their bragging is only to realize how thoroughly egotistical and narcissistic that King or Queen must have been, if it is even true.
I have not yet been able to travel anywhere or expand my awareness while ego has a firm grip. Perhaps this is again too subtle. To simplify: if you want to discover who you were in other lives to puff yourself up, or try to prove how much better you are than someone else – forget it! If you are blaming some sort of outside "devil" for the evil you cause, there is much work to be done here first. Once you do accept full responsibility for your actions however, you will be able to easily move beyond this earthly school of duality because:
Compassion is the key,
Love is the door,
Greater humility is the blessed gift that waits on the other side.
Life’s irony is that “The meek shall inherit the earth”, when it is only greed’s grip on us that makes inheritance appealingly attractive.
Do you want to broaden your horizons?
Summary
Is the wisdom of prevention a part of your being? Have you broadened your perspective by realizing anything of this earth is “small stuff” - at least to the degree of relinquishing your desire to control others? Are you detached to the point of knowing you are not your physical body or merely an emotion? Have you left comparative exploitation behind to embrace synergism? If so, you already know the blessing of humility.
With humility, every moment of our journey is peacefully fulfilling. Revisiting past lives can confirm the “lightning bolt” realizations we already paid dearly to understand. By reviewing the similar golden thread that has woven its way through each, our purpose becomes clearer.
Do you ever take the time to review old pictures or videos, reminiscing with a smile? If you do, past life regression can bring thousands more smiles. Do you treat the other people in the photos with disdain or disrespect after remembering how many smiles you have shared? No, there is only love. Thus, our visits in the past reveal the other souls we have loved. The more love we give, the more we receive and thus, the more that flows through us.
It is your choice.
These aspects can help you pinpoint and understand your 'point A' to walk through the gate of, “Reincarnation – fact or fiction?” to 'point B' for yourself :)

SEM Pro: Worth the wait for Part II. I see the expansion possible into Part III. By the way, I must say I have actually experienced the exact circumstance you opened with in real life. Kinda eerie.
Life is a journey and it did not begin the day we took our first breath for this current existence. This is another leg of our journey
Eckhart Tolle as you mentioned teaches one way to take the inner journey. Some travels as you say are not written, they are known. They all begin at the same place and they will all end at the same place..... but the possiblities in-between......unlimiited
I appreciate your sharing the expansion of the possiblities in the journey. Your light is shining brightly :-)!!!
'You are the best now that you have ever been' - that is such a reassuring statement! Having said that, doesn't it make one kind of complacent - there is the danger that we may think that perhaps there isn't room for improvement?
I f we accept the statement that 'You are the best now that you have ever been', we must by extension accept that there is room for improvement, if we believe in reincarnation.
I am in full agreement with the lady who stated casually, "By virtue of the fact that we had to come back to this earthly school of duality, means we didn't pass last time. We're here because we didn't get it right." Hence my question posted in my commentary on Part 1. I really don't expect an (one) answer, as the question has a different answer for each of us, I just want THE answer, which is the same for all of us, and becomes the more beautiful in its simplicity when we reach the realization that it really is just that simple.
It amazes me how much we can learn when we stop reacting to our surroundings and begin understanding the things that are happening and how they affect us.
With understanding come realization and belief, which in turn bring peace and understanding..full circle once again.(Possibly over simplified, but you catch my drift)
I can only hope that any people who read these hubs and do not comment on them, are eventually brought to understanding and peace through their own life experiences.
I am looking forward to Part 3!
To any people who are angered in any way by these discussions, comments and hubs, I leave you with the following statement I heard many years ago and didn't really pay attention to
"Anger is only the outward manifestation of inner self-doubt." So get over it and start understanding!!
Ohhhh, SEM Pro, forgive me...I didn't mean I thought there was no room for improvement in me...it was just a general statement. As far as I can see I have a long, long way to go...and that probably means I'm going to keep coming back for a while yet. :)
The poster of the glamorous housewife is hilarious! Those big eyed babies are kind of scary. :D
I'm certain everyone has experianced de ja vu some time in their life.I personally experience it every so often ,maybe as a reminder of the fact that we are souls having a human experiance, rather than humans having a spiritual experiance.
Intriguing...I'm going to read this again to absorb the message. "Deja vu is merely a mind hiccup when we are tired" now that's powerful enlightenment...In quietness I feel more centred and balanced; more like I am/was/supposed to be...one with the universe, my point A in search of point B.
I look forward to part 3.
Thanks for the light...
I've had someone I worked with tell me she saw me walking behind myself oner day at work.I did feel a little faint at the exact moment she saw me.Although I wasn't aware of my splitting up into two.One physical and one spiritual. She said she can see deceased individuals as well as communicate with them.I never knew anyone else who could or would admit to that.
Truth seems stranger or at least as strange as fiction. My Nephew made the statement last time I saw him "It only happens in the movies".The funny thing is he's a grunt for a movie studio now.I had to remind him that there is a lot of reality in those fiction movies.
SEM Pro, I believe I am trying to figure out the how. The why will make sense as I go along; it is a work in progress. I revisit it every now and then when I face a hiccup.
Thanks for your guidance. Blessings

I have read the book by Trutz Hardo where he has followed the works of the popular Ian Stevenson.
You want to keep taking births then it is upto the soul.
if you do not take birth then where do the soul go?
Very interesting hub!
I believe in reincarnation after decades of studying, fasting, and praying. Your writing was "right on"...the clips of "James 3" story were excellent. Thanks for sharing, Ladyfairz
