I WANT TO CRY
62
I want to cry
Reprieve from incessantly asking why
The burdens I carry on my shoulders,
Diminish my path’s view, to nothing but boulders.
I want to cry.
Could the tears wash away sorrow?
Relieve the past with a simple sigh?
Where is youth’s determination? Where can I find hope for tomorrow?
I watch the world crumble around
Visions slain, goals no longer abound.
People freely abuse each other
Call life a game to justify how they smother.
Witnessing I see dis-ease used as a tool
The perpetrators manipulate, trying desperately to rule
They are stuck in their delusions of separation
I pray not to be around for the karmic payback of their creation
Is it so tough for us to accept and love ourselves?
Have we, as a society, relegated “I’m OK” to a book on the shelves?
How can it even be someone’s imagining, their druthers?
To think lying or blame, elevates their status in the eyes of others?
If you too have felt jostled as if a pawn,
In the seeds of destruction, another has spawn,
Treated with no value, no respect – with true disdain,
If your shoulders are heavy, your heart in deep pain,
Come cry with me.
Together, understanding the power of true unity, we will see
If our tears can, to any degree, wash away sorrow
Allowing light and compassion, for a hopeful morrow.

I won't come cry with you, but I will cry inside for you...please borrow my rather broad shoulders for a time...I give you a virtual hug and wish you to look to tommorrow with anticipation, for this too will pass...Larry
Gave this one a up bump. Its good sometimes to just let this stuff all out, poetry is a great way too. Beautiful :)

VERY powerful words!!!! I write lyrics to express my frustrations with this crazy world. I enjoyed your "words." Best, GPAGE
This is positively stunning. A rally cry for calling out of abuse? I like!
Lovely quote...

^ever read his stuff? Interesting.
Very nice poem. Every nice subject. Very nice message. Very nice comments. Very nice soul!
Well, I am done crying and when I can I write about it. I know how you feel though. Cheers now, CC
Well it's been 2 years and you shared your tears with some pretty special people who stood here in this hub with you Sylvia. I hope that since you wrote this work, vast positive change has occurred that requires major smiling! This poem I missed until now, I guess that today was the right time for me to read it and to appreciate your words.. which I did. I agree with those other special voices here... virtual hugs never have an expiry date and I trust anticipation defeated the need to cry! Take care... PD
